Patient Care Coordinator

Responsible for answering patient phone calls, explaining procedures to patients, scheduling and reschedule appointments, explain benefit coverages, copays, and deductibles. Additional responsibilities include inbound and outbound referral management.

· Answer and route patient phone calls as needed

· Schedule and reschedule patient appointments

· Data entry into Electronic Medical Record

· Verify patient billing and contact information

· Listen and respond as needed to patient voicemail messages

· Check insurance eligibility

· Explain patient referral process if needed

· Create tasks for patient questions to clinical staff

· Mail out appropriate patient information

· Manage inbound and outbound referrals and close the referral loop

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and / or Experience

o High School diploma or equivalent

o Dermatology experience preferred

o Must be proficient using computer software and entering data

Communication Skills

o Ability to communicate in a professional manner, both verbal and written

o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents pertaining to various medical, treatment, and surgical matters.

Reasoning Ability

o Ability to apply medical or scientific logic to situations as needed.

Physical Demands

o The duties of this position require the employee to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
