Mark's Outdoors: Take a Kid Fishing Day

Mark’s Outdoors, Vestavia Hills’ longtime hometown outdoor retailer, is proud to continue its longstanding Take a Kid Fishing Day tradition with a fun-filled event on Saturday, June 27 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the store. The free community event aims to introduce children to the joys of fishing, the outdoors, and conservation in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.

Event Highlights Include:

• The first 200 kids under 15 will receive a free rod & reel combo, along with a free tackle box and tackle
• Knot tying station and fishing tips from experienced anglers
• Food, giveaways, and plenty of family-friendly activities
• Special appearances and support from local partners:
  • Vestavia Hills Police Department (VHPD)
  • Vestavia Hills Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team
  • Sr. Officer Charles “Chas” Moore with the Alabama Department of Natural Resources (DNR)
  • The University of Alabama Bass Fishing Team (of which Mark’s Outdoors is the proud title sponsor)
  • Doodles Ice Cream Truck
