Author D.P. Johnson Becomes First Author to Donate Her Own Books to Shoe4Africa, a Nonprofit in Kenya

Vestavia Hills, AL — September 2025 — D.P. Johnson, award-winning author of The Brave Little Panther and Executive Director of The Brave Little Panther, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing children’s literacy, has made international history as the first author to donate her own books to Shoe4Africa, a nonprofit organization based in Eldoret, Kenya.

The donation featured Johnson’s acclaimed children’s book, The Brave Little Panther, which empowers young readers to embrace courage, resilience, and self-worth. Shoe4Africa (nonprofit) distributes the books to children in underserved communities as part of its mission to expand education and opportunity across Africa.
