JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chimney Sweep & Repair Technician is the fulfillment arm of the
business, responsible for executing the repairs, restorations, and installations recommended by
our sales technicians. This role performs technical chimney, fireplace, and venting work at
customers' homes, often at height and in confined spaces, while upholding rigorous safety, quality,
and documentation standards. This position plays a direct role in protecting the company's lifetime
guarantee, driving customer satisfaction, and supporting revenue and safety goals.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
? Complete all repairs, restorations, and installations with zero warranty or rework return trips,
protecting the company's lifetime guarantee.
? Maintain 100% compliance with Safety and fall-protection standards on every jobsite.
? Complete quoted jobs within allotted hours.
? Fully document every job in CRM before leaving the site.
? Deliver quality workmanship with zero post-job cleanup or workmanship callbacks.
? Manage company tools, equipment, and fleet vehicles with zero damage or loss due to
neglect.
? Communicate safety critical findings clearly and professionally with homeowners.
? Progress on schedule with Internal training program and industry certifications
? Performs other duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES
? Technical craftsmanship
? Safety-first mindset with disciplined PPE compliance.
? Working knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, national fire and venting codes (e.g., NFPA 211).
? Comfort and confidence working at height and in confined spaces.
? Physical stamina to sustain demanding work across varied conditions.
? Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized chimney-service equipment.
? Strong time management and self-organization.
? Attention to detail and documentation discipline.

? Clear, professional, and persuasive communication with customers.
? Integrity, accountability, and a strong learning orientation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
? High school diploma or equivalent required; no prior industry experience required.
? CSIA and Top Hat University (THU) certification required (provided via in-house training).
? Valid state driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
? Prior experience in construction, roofing, masonry, HVAC, or a related trade preferred, not
required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
? Ability to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 30 feet, including steep-pitch roofs (up
to 12/12).
? Ability to work in confined, low-visibility spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, fireboxes, and
flues.
? Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and materials weighing up to approximately 75 lbs.
? Ability to work outdoors and in unconditioned spaces in temperatures exceeding 100°F or
below freezing.
? Ability to wear fit-tested respiratory protection (e.g., N95/P100) and other PPE for extended
periods.
