Mercy Deliverance Ministries (MDM) is a 501 c (3) non-profit based in Birmingham, AL. At MDM, we believe that God  delivers people by His word, love, grace, and mercy and releases their potential, God-given identity, and destiny. 

Additionally, we are committed to the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of every person we reach. Our vision is  to champion the cause of the marginalized, to give a voice to the voiceless, show the mercy that God has shown us  by being patient and compassionate as we walk along side of those who are suffering and afflicted until the Lord  delivers them from their burdens.  

Position Description 

The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing all logistics and technical aspects of Mercy Deliverance  Ministries’ community food distributions. This person will work with local volunteers, MDM vendors, and agency  partners to distribute food boxes to individuals and families who qualify for assistance.  

Job-Type: Part-Time, 30 Hours/Week 

Responsibilities: 

Must align with the mission and vision of MDM.  

Must be able to manage all aspects of MDM’s food program, including procurement of goods, inventory  management, point of sale software, vendor relationships, distribution strategies, and implement automation. Must develop and create an effective communication process with all suppliers. 

Must identify best practices and challenges in the MDM supply chain process and implement processes for  overcoming all challenges. 

Must be able to maintain all warehouse standards related to safety and cleanliness. 

Must establish and implement an effective inventory system and tracking method to maintain par levels of  product on a weekly basis. 

Must be able to manage monthly distribution budgets, reconcile inventory, and generate reports detailing the  outcomes of each distribution.  

Must be able to recruit, train, and communicate effectively with volunteers. 

Must be reliable, well-organized, and honest in his/her dealings. 

Must act as an MDM ambassador between the community, the supply warehouse, distribution sites,  volunteers, and staff. 

Must be physically able to lift and stack products of varying weights, up to a minimum of 50 lbs. Provide general administrative support with the mobile grocery bus. 

Willingness to assist one weekend per month if needed with community events. 

Must perform other duties as identified, and/or assigned by management. 

Requirements: 

At least 2 years in operations management in the food-supply industry, or a bachelor’s in a related field. Must possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, such as data entry, data collection. Ability  to learn POS system. 

Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening. 

Rate: $25/hour, based on experience
