Reports To: Facilities Manager

Job Summary
The Facilities Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the overall maintenance,
operation, and safety of the church’s buildings and grounds. This position assists the
Facilities Manager in overseeing and executing tasks across all aspects of facility
management, ensuring a welcoming, functional, and safe environment for worship,
programs, and community events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive,
organized, and possesses a servant’s heart for the church community.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
? Assist with routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
? Conduct facility inspections to identify issues.
? Help manage preventive maintenance schedules.
? Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
Groundskeeping
? Oversee upkeep of church grounds and cleanliness.
? Ensure safety of pathways and outdoor areas.
Event Support
? Assist with setup and breakdown of events.
? Ensure facilities are clean before and after events.
Safety & Security
? Support safety protocols and emergency procedures.
? Assist in maintaining security systems.
? Conduct regular safety checks.
Custodial
? Oversee custodial services and cleanliness standards.
? Perform emergency cleaning as needed.
? Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
Team Collaboration
? Work with staff and volunteers on facility needs.

? Train volunteers assisting with maintenance.

Qualifications
? High school diploma or equivalent required.
? Vocational training or certification (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
? 2–3 years of experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a church,
school, or nonprofit setting.
? Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
? Strong organizational and time management skills.
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Proficient with email and word processing software.
? Able to work independently and in teams.
? Reliable, flexible, and committed to the church’s mission.
? Maintains confidentiality and discretion.

Physical Requirements
? Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
? Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
? Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
? Safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.

Work Schedule
This position may require occasional evening and weekend hours to support church
services, events, and seasonal activities.
