June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; July 6, 13, 20 9:00 ? 10:15 AM Zainab Suntai This course will explore different types of losses, including loss of a relationship, loss of a job, health-related losses, and death from several theoretical frameworks. We will discuss different ways of coping with loss, how people cope with loss across different cultures, how the brain processes loss, and several other special topics. These include ambiguous loss, continuing bonds, meaningful reconstruction, and the stages of grief. The goal of this course is to help you navigate loss in your own life and to gain tools to provide support for other people experiencing different types of losses.
