DESCRIPTION:The Vestavia Hills Sunrise Rotary Club announces the 7th Annual First Responders Celebration will be Saturday\, April 22\, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The family-friendly event will be held on the grounds of the Vestavia Hills City Hall\, located at 1032 Montgomery Highway\, and will feature a low country boil and live entertainment.\n\n\n\nThis event serves dual purposes for the Vestavia Hills community. Foremost\, we want to honor the Fire Fighters and Police Force who serve and protect our citizens\, workforce and visitors in and throughout Vestavia Hills.\n\n\n\nSecond\, proceeds from sponsors and supporters generate funds to acquire state-of-the-art equipment for the First Responders. In previous years\, in connection with the Celebration\, Vestavia Hills Sunrise Rotary has been able to donate emergency support equipment including an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and commercial-grade drones. For 2017\, the proceeds from the event will be used to purchase requested items\, such night-vision goggles\, for the fire stations and police departments in Vestavia Hills. A portion of the proceeds will also go to Vestavia Hills High School's nationally accomplished "We The People".\n\n\n\nThe Celebration includes a mouth-watering shrimp boil along with kid-friendly foods and drinks. Entertainment includes a live band\, inflatables\, game truck\, corn hole competitions and clowns along with fire engines and rescue equipment.\n\n\n\n"This time of year\, we are reminded of the 2011 tornadoes and how our fire and police departments heroically and tirelessly supported everyone during that outbreak. This event is an opportunity for our Rotary Club to serve and thank those men and women who serve us regardless of the circumstances." said Bill Boyd\, 2017 First Responders Celebration Chairman.\n\n\n\nTickets are $10 each and the picnic is free for First Responders and their families.
