DESCRIPTION:28th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast\n\n This annual breakfast is one of the most well-attended and moving events in our city. At this event\, dignitaries and local citizens come together to offer prayers for our world\, country\, state and city. \n\nOur keynote speaker\, Christian Cooper\, is a courageous young man that suffered burns over 80% of his body when his car caught fire on I-65 between Alford Avenue and Highway 31 in 2016. He spent 5 months in a burn center in Augusta\, Georgia after a short time at UAB where doctors gave him a five percent chance of surviving though the night and said if he did make it through the night\; he would never walk out of the hospital. Now\, after an extensive number of surgeries\, including extensive skin grafts of his own skin grown at a lab in Boston\, Cooper is feeding himself and mobile.\n\n \n\nChristian is a remarkable young man with an incredibly positive attitude after enduring a long\, difficult road but his faith has not waivered and his message is one that will leave you realizing how blessed we each are and amazement at how a young man is so wise.\n\n \n\n \n\nTuesday\, April 24\, 2018\n\nBuffet opens at 7:00 am\; Program begins at 7:30 am\n\nVestavia Country Club\n\n\n\nTickets cost $20 each.\n\nPlease call the Chamber Office at 823-5011 for tickets.
